This Epos vertigo as on interesting variant of the doctor's watches from the thirties. It is in a 41.5mm (including the lugs) x 27.3mm x 11.5mm SS rectangular case with a sapphire crystal and a display back secured by four fine screws, water resistant to 30 meters. The silver dial has black Arabic numerals alternating with dot markers and subsidiary seconds at six. The non-screw down crown is unsigned. This watch is unique in that the case is hinged to reveal a small compartment appropriate for carrying a picture. The hinged case can be set up on a desk to be used as a travel clock. The watch is on a signed black crocodile finished strap with tang type buckle. It is new and unworn, without a scratch on the case or crystal. Its nicely finished A. Shields cal 1727 17 jewel manual winding movement maintains accurate time to a tolerance of eight seconds per day. This unworn doctor's watch, a new old stock item no longer in production, was found in a dusty corner of the warehouse of the Epos importer.
