Glashutte Original watches have been manufactured in Germany since 1845. Movements are manufactured on site, mostly by hand. When we visited their workshops last year, we were very impressed with the fine workmanship that goes into the production of each of their watches. This Glashutte Original Senator Perpetual Calendar (ref 39-50-16-22-04) is in a 39.2mm x 12.6mm polished SS case with sapphire crystal and display back secured with five fine screws, water resistant to fifty meters. Its non-screw down crown is signed. The handsome copper colored dial has white gold baton markers, moonphase at eight, day at ten,, month at two, and quickset big date at four. This watch has a complicated movement that once properly set maintains accurate documentation of day, date, and month, determining which months have other than thirty days, even in leap year! The watch is on a signed brown crocodile strap with signed double deployant clasp. This watch is new and unworn, without a scratch or mark anywhere on the case, crystal, or strap. Its hand finished Glashutte Original cal 39-51 automatic movement has 48 jewels, 21K gold weighted rotor, swan-neck regulator, and 40 hour power reserve, accurate to four seconds per day.
