Glashutte Original watches have been manufactured in Germany since 1845. Movements are manufactured on site, mostly by hand. Of the many manufacturers of fine watches that we visited recently, we were most impressed with Glashutte. This Glashutte Original Senator AutoDate is in a 38.8mm x 11.2mm SS case with sapphire crystal and the back secured with five screws, water resistant to 50 meters. The silver dial has white gold baton markers and quickset big date at four. The watch is on a signed SS bracelet with double deployant clasp, long enough for an eight inch wrist. It is in excellent to near mint condition, without any scratches on the case or crystal, very minor scuffs on the polished edge of the bezel and on the bracelet. Its cal 38-42 44 jewel automatic movement has a 40 hour power reserve, and it is accurate within a tolerance of five seconds per day. This preowned watch will be sold with boxes, hang tag, and all original papers. It is no longer in production, but the model that replaced it, the Senator Panorama Date, has a list price of about $7200 with a SS bracelet.
