The IWC UTC Pilot's watch (ref 3251) is a classic pilot's watch with a window to read UTC (Zulu Time) instead of the usual GMT hand, useful for filing flight plans or checking weather forecasts. The UTC window can be independently set, to follow time in two different time zones. This watch is in a 39.3mm x 12.2mm SS screw back case, water resistant to 60 meters, with an iron core to provide an anti-magnetic screen. It has a domed sapphire crystal and signed screw down crown. The black dial has fluorescent baton markers, white Arabic numerals, date at three and UTC at twelve. The signed brown buffalo leather strap has a tang type buckle, and it shows evidence of previous use. This watch is in excellent condition, without any deep scratches on the case or crystal, numerous superficial hair lines on the case back, the bezel, and the crystal, the latter difficult to see, even with a loupe. This watch just had a complete service by Superior Watch Company, at a cost of $500. The IWC cal 37526 (base cal ETA 2892-A2) 21 jewel automatic movement maintains accurate time within a tolerance of four seconds per day. This preowned pilot's watch, which was purchased in March, 2006, will be sold with boxes and papers. The current version of the IWC UTC has a list price of $4400.
