The Kobold Spirit of America (ref KD 657122) is the first Kobold watch completely assembled in the United States, using many Swiss components. This one is in a 43mm x 13.7mm black DLC coated titanium screw back case with sapphire display back and crown at eight, water resistant to 100 meters. It is a Kobold prototype which never entered production. Only three of these black DLC prototypes are known to exist. It has a domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating and a signed non-screw down crown. The black dial has white baton markers and no date or seconds, consistent with its functional design. The watch is on an signed brown calfskin strap with tang type buckle, with minor scuffs on its surface. It is new and unworn, with no scratches or other imperfections on the case, dial, or crystal. The modified Unitas 6497 17 jewel Swiss manual winding movement currently maintains accurate time within a tolerance of six seconds per day.
