In 1869 the great grandfather of the present owner of the Muhle Glashutte company founded an instrument factory to produce high quality measuring products and nautical instruments. In 1946 the current Mulhe Glashutte Company was founded, and they began the manufacture of fine watches in 1995. This Muhle Glashutte SAR Rescue Timer (ref M1-41-03) is the official watch of the German Search and Rescue Team. It is in a 42.3mm x 13.5mm bead blasted SS screw back case with a rubber coated trimmed bezel, water resistant to 1000 meters. It has an extra thick (4mm) sapphire crystal and signed screw down crown at four. The black dial has fluorescent markers and quickset date at four. This watch is on a signed SS bracelet with rubber covered center links and fliplock deployant clasp, long enough for a nine inch wrist. It is in very good condition, with no deep scratches on the case or crystal, with numerous scuffs on the bracelet and bracelet clasp, a few fine hair lines on the case side at nine, and a small ding on the back edge of that case side. The ETA cal 2824 25 jewel automatic movement maintains accurate time within a tolerance of four seconds per day. This preowned German sport watch, which was purchased from an authorized dealer in February, 2003, will be sold with metal storage box, a signed (but short) rubber dive strap, and papers.
