The Rolex Explorer I, the simplest of the Rolex line of chronometer sport watches, has always been very popular. Very recently, Rolex has updated this classic watch with a larger case and newer style bracelet. This Explorer I (ref 214270) is in a 39mm x 11.5mm polished SS screw back case with satin finished lugs, water resistant to 100 meters. The screw down crown is signed, and the crystal is sapphire. The black dial has brightly fluorescent baton markers, white gold Arabic numerals at three, six, and nine, and no date, for a very clean look. This watch is on a signed Oyster bracelet with fliplock deployant clasp, long enough for a seven and a three quarter inch wrist. It is in near mint condition, with no scratches or other flaws on the case, crystal, or bracelet. The Rolex cal 3132 (base cal Rolex 3135) 31 jewel chronometer certified movement maintains accurate time within a tolerance of two seconds per day. This preowned Explorer I, purchased from an authorized dealer in September of 2011, has a random serial number, and will be sold with its original boxes, papers, hang tags, and polishing cloth.
